This is John. He's commuting. Happy is an ironic adjective. I actually sketched a picture of John long before he became an idea for a 3D character. I decided I wanted to create someone with a little character, and cartoonish proportions. He stood out as the most sympathetic. After working with Wompa, and his processor-choking fur, I wanted something a little more... well... bald.

Nikki's Nightclub
Creating environments for my character animations is NOT my favorite thing in the whole world. I tend to get a little too realistic with them. Case in point, Nikki's Nightclub. Everything in here is either reflective, refractive, or gives off some kind of light. It's a nightmare for someone who's got just their one lowly little processor. If I remember correctly, rendering the backdrop for the Nikki character animation sequences took approximately one full day. And it was just single still. I'm still happy with it, however.
Craps Table
This was a piece used for an educational DVD menu screen. A print-resolution version was used for the actual DVD cover. The texture was created at high-resolution, so that extremely close camera positions could be applied. The most frustrating aspect, however, is that real casino-style craps dice LOOK like badly created 3D dice.
