Nikki, the Club Bartender
Nikki is a cel-shaded vixen bartender. Her design is influenced heavily by Bruce Timm's style. The impossibly thin waist and dramatic eyelashes add to the caricatured sexy look. I can honestly say I had a lot of fun creating all sorts of outfits for her, from clubbing attire to superhero threads.
Vixen Andrea
Andrea is actually a friend of mine, but she wanted to see a rendition of herself as a sexy vixen. She liked this so much, it's now her avatar on the web forums she frequents. Drawn in Pencil, Inked and colored in Photoshop.
Jenny's New Dress
Jenny is a character created by a good friend of mine, but I had to do a quick doodle of her myself. The splash of color was added as an afterthought, but I rather like how it adds a little to the piece without transforming her from a drawing into a cartoon. Drawn in pencil, inked and "colored" in photoshop.
Otious Station
This image is close to the final version of the environment for the "John the Happy Commuter" animation. I spent a long time hand-painting (in Photoshop) the tile texture of the walls, in an effort to take away the digital look that usually follows tile-like textures. Also spent time applying different specular maps to make sure the tile looked shiny, while the grout kept it's grime.
Red 32!!
A roullette wheel and ball, with heavy render settings to make it look pretty. :o ) Only took about 3 hours to make total. I particularly like the way the ball-in-motion blurred in the render.
John-Kar, the Happy Barbarian
This is a parody of my own character. It's also a piece of 2-D art that holds the distinction of being the piece I've worked on for the longest amount of time. Ever. Done with pencil. Scanned. Cleaned and colored in Photoshop.
Typical Wompa - Rain
How I feel most of my life. Oddly enough, however, I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks, Spunky, for saddling me with this ball of yellow. P.S. I'm the fat one on the right.
John, Concept Sketch 1
This is John. He's commuting. Happy is an ironic adjective. I actually sketched a picture of John long before he became an idea for a 3D character. I decided I wanted to create someone with a little character, and cartoonish proportions. He stood out as the most sympathetic. After working with Wompa, and his processor-choking fur, I wanted something a little more... well... bald.
